He will step down from his envoy role to support the president’s reelection campaign.
Climate Envoy John Kerry told international audiences on Tuesday that the U.S. will not change course on its support of clean energy, regardless of who wins the 2024 presidential election.
“This economic revolution is underway and it’s much bigger than any politician, any one person,” Envoy Kerry said in Davos, Switzerland.
The former secretary of state spoke on a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirming that he will be leaving his post as U.S. Climate Envoy to support President Joe Biden in his reelection campaign. The U.S. Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from being involved in campaign activities.
“This is going to be one of the reasons I want my voice back to be able to go out and be involved is because this issue is a voting issue,” he said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Envoy Kerry as he steps down to campaign for the president.
- For President Biden as he and his advisors consider the next person for the climate envoy role.
- For God’s purposes to be accomplished in and through the U.S. government.
